IPERION CHIntegrated Platform for the European Research Infrastructure ON Cultural Heritage

Within the European project Iperion CH one of the instruments of MoLab the mobile laboratory which will be moved – on demand – across Europe  is the  multispectral scanner Vis-Nir: an instrument for multispectral imaging to be used in the field of conservation of works of art and for the analisys of  ancient paintings.
In particular the scanner acquires sixteen channels in the visible (VIS) and sixteen in the infrared (NIR): from the channels of the visible it is possible to reconstruct the color image of the painting while maintaining the spectral information for each pixel of the painting itself; from the channels in the infrared it is possible to observe the layers beneath the pigment.
