IPERION CHIntegrated Platform for the European Research Infrastructure ON Cultural Heritage

The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (NCU) is the biggest university in northern Poland, comprising 17 faculties covering disciplines from science to humanities and medicine. NCU employs over 4300 people including 2221 scholars (1000 with Ph.D.), 242 of whom hold the professorial title. At present 30,000 students are being educated in 73 fields of studies, 100 specializations, over 130 courses and post-graduate studies and 22 doctoral studies. IPERION CH is managed jointly by the Institute of Physics and Institute for the Study, Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage. The former offers degree programs in fields of physics (theoretical, experimental, medical and optoelectronics), technical physics, informatics, and robotics. The latter is a part of Faculty of Fine Arts. In the institute research in conducted and degree programs are offered in the fields of conservation-restoration of paintings, polychrome sculpture, fabrics, paper and leather, stone and architectonic details as well as in the field of protection of cultural heritage.
